Philosophy Discussion on AutismMany do not understand why Autistic Children are so different. We know their brains are wired differently and they do not appear to be stupid or retarded or anything of that nature. So what is the answer to all of this? Well here is a thought? No not really another theory, as there are enough theories on Autism out there already. This is more of a philosophical discussion of sorts really.Maybe with Autistic Children it just takes longer for the brain to form fully, which means it may be better or more efficient later on? But if we waste the input of proper education (education which actually is tailored to their way of accepting the information), then we do a complete disservice to that individual later on. I think of all the theories, I like that one the best, as it gives us something to look forward to.You know horses come out of the womb and run around within minutes, humans are rather helpless for the first 2-3 years, yet they are one of the very smartest and most intelligent species on the planet you see? What if it took 40-years to have a fully formed brain rather than 6-years now? Maybe with humans living longer it allows for this, maybe we should be thinking in terms of a 40-year childhood period and then a life time of a more adapted and intelligent super brain potential after that. So, when people talk about autism, I just think there is so much more going on here and we cannot rule out the "Slower Brain Forming" periods. Hell it took me until I was 30 or so until my brain shifted into higher gears, now I cannot turn it off. Does that make me a lesser? Because it works so much better than it once did? So for this reason I do not pity autistic children, I admire them, and whether right or wrong for choosing my theory of choice, I can tell you there is a lot more to the story. So take this philosophical thought for what it is worth and consider this in 2006. ."Lance Winslow" - Online Think Tank forum board.
